Horizon Sea Safaris is a family run business offering you an experience you are unlikely to forget! We pride ourselves on our fun and safety record.

Horizon Sea Safaris was founded by Jon Brooks and his business parnter Janice Denyer. Having started sailing in his teens the sea has never been far from Jon's life. Living close to the harbour, in Ramsgate, he has gained extensive local knowledge of both the wildlife and history, this he is only to keen to share on the tours. He has worked in the marine industry for many years and is a popular face within the marine electronics world. Like all of his crews, Jon is an experienced seaman and an RYA instructor with a number of disciplines under his belt. He is one of the duty cox's of a local patrol boat, with this vessel being a delcared rescource for H M Coastguard he is often involed with rescues at sea. He is also trained as a Marine Mammal Medic with the British Divers Marine Life Rescue. Jon has just taken on the role as East Kent Area Coordinator for the BDMLR covering Sandwich to Seasalter.

Whilst we offer trips to visit the local wildlife on the Thanet coast we are also helping to protect and monitor it, in conjuction with Thanet Coast Project, Kent County Council, Kent Coastal Network and BDMLR (British Divers Marine Life Rescue)

Providing fun, interest and education as you journey in "Micki Dee Bee" our purpose built 9M Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB).

Our crews are commercially qualified and endorsed with many years of experience and most have a marine emergency services background. We always go to sea with two crew to ensure both the safety and the comfort of our guests.

Qualifications include:-

RYA Advanced Powerboat, RYA Yatchmaster, RYA Powerboat instructors, RYA PWC instuctors, Advanced First Aid and Marine Mammal Medics.

 

We also offer and specialise is Off Shore Support and Safety Boat Cover for sporting events and commercial requirements.
